Black History Month: Legal Studies Speaker Series

February is Black History Month! Throughout February, AACC has been recognizing the achievements of Black Americans through a variety of resources and events.

From 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, we'll be hosting an event that we're calling, "Negotiating the Wealth Gap to Achieve Success in Business: Law and Reality." Part of our Legal Studies Speaker Series, this presentation will celebrate the success in Black business in spite of the social challenges and racial inequities that exist around us. Professors Kymberly Jackson and Jason Keene will be moderating this discussion. A panel of speakers from our community will also be on hand to participate as well. The program is via Zoom and is co-sponsored by the School of Business and Law's Social Justice Committee.

The discussion will be hosted by a panel of speakers that include:

Honorable Sidney Butcher, District Court for Anne Arundel County

Phillip Croskey, CEO, MD Energy Advisory

Richard Gibson, Esq., Office of the State's Attorney, Prince George's County

Richard Tabuteau, Esq., Tabuteau, LLC

Del. Sandra Bartlett, Esq., District 32

Winnie Shabazz, Certified Wedding Planner, Win at Weddings & Events.
